The Future of Acorns: A £1 Million Investment in You

First and foremost, we want to extend a massive thank you to all our members. We know the recent projects haven’t always been easy; we’ve faced setbacks, noise, and interruptions, and we truly appreciate your loyalty and patience throughout this journey.

We also want to give a huge shout-out to our incredible staff. They have gone above and beyond their daily roles to maintain a "level of normality" for you throughout the chaos of the build. We are extremely grateful to have such a dedicated team.

🏗️ Project Update: The Home Stretch

We are thrilled to share that the new extension is 95% complete. While we had hoped to open the doors this week, the final installation of the staircase has shifted our timeline slightly.

Our New Target: We are now aiming for a mid-to-late April opening. Once these final structural bits are finished and Building Control provides the final sign-off, we will be ready to go!

The New Entrance: Features automated speed gates (turnstiles) and a new paved area for a seamless, modern entry experience.
Upstairs Area: 99% complete! We are just awaiting the final equipment, digital timers, and a giant blackboard for our instructors.
Hyrox Accredited: We are proud to announce that Acorns is now an Official Hyrox Accredited Centre!
The Sound System: The main areas are now fully covered and the speakers are live! We’ve already had fantastic feedback from members praising the new vibe and mood of the club.
The New Staircase: This was finalised today! We are now just awaiting the flooring on the steps.

💰 Investing in Your Facilities

Acorns Health & Fitness has committed to investing a total of £1,000,000 back into the extension and redevelopment of our club. To date, we have already spent £700,000 on the brand-new 400 sqm gym extension, our new outdoor building, and downstairs improvements.

        The Next Phase: We want to spend the remaining £300,000 on a total overhaul of the changing facilities and other amenities later this year. As a charity, we never "make" money—we simply reinvest every penny back into the site to improve your experience.

💎 New Optional Membership "Bolt-Ons"

To help us raise the remaining capital for the changing room project, we are introducing two optional membership bolt-ons that will be coming soon.
Your "Price for Life" is safe—current members will see no change to their base membership price. These are 100% optional bolt-ons available via the app.
New members will see an increased membership price.

1. The Performance Plus Bolt-On (£5/mo or £60/yr)

New Classes: Access to 12 new weekly Hyrox classes (2 every weekday morning, plus weekend mornings).
Priority Booking: 14-day advance booking for all fitness classes (up from 7 days).
Guest Passes: 2 FREE guest passes every month to bring a friend.
Training Plans: Access to exclusive downloadable training plan templates.
Partner Discounts: Discounted products and services from our local partners.
Monthly Updates: A monthly programme update to keep your training fresh.

2. The Wellness Bolt-On (£15/mo or £180/yr)

🎁 Member Soft Launch

As a thank you for your patience, once Building Control signs off, we will hold a Member Soft Launch.
You will be able explore and use the new extension and upstairs area before it is fully open to new members.

🕒 New Trial Opening Hours

Starting when the new area opens, we begin a 3-month trial of extended hours:

Mon – Fri: 6:00am – 10:00pm (Open 30m earlier, close 30m later Mon-Thurs, 1hr later on Fri)
Saturday: 8:00am – 8:00pm (3 extra hours!)
Sunday: 8:00am – 6:00pm (1 extra hour!)

🚀 Key Changes & Security

Fairness & Access: New turnstiles feature an AI camera system to monitor entry/exit. This ensures the club stays fair for all paying members and protects our funds for future reinvestment.

New Induction Process: Choose between the following options: No Induction (A signed waiver required), a Free Group Induction, or a Paid 1-1 Induction.

Junior Gym: New hours are 3:30pm – 6:00pm (Weekdays) and 12:00pm – 5:00pm (Weekends). Price: £20/month or £5/visit. Note: Juniors must still sign in at the main reception.

Pricing Updates: For new members, Price for Life will be removed and rates will increase slightly. Non-member class prices will increase by £1, and Gym / Health Suite day passes will be £10. There will be no pricing changes for current members but there will be new bolt on plans coming that are optional.
